Our community impact
We are building a year-round community space designed to serve youth athletes, families, seniors, schools, and organizations throughout the Bitterroot Valley.
The Bitterroot Valley Youth Sports Foundation was created to address the growing need for safe, affordable, and accessible indoor recreation space for our community. Our vision is to ;ease first, then create a facility that supports youth development, healthy lifestyles, local partnerships, and long-term economic impact for the valley.
Solving space limitations
The Bitterroot Valley continues to see strong growth in youth athletics, recreation programs, and community demand for indoor activity space. Unfortunately, gym availability has not kept pace with that growth.
Local athletes, schools, clubs, and families often face:
- Overcrowded gym schedules
- Late-night practice times
- Limited tournament space
- Seasonal program restrictions
- Long travel distances for additional court access
Our vision is to help address these challenges by creating a dedicated indoor sports facility designed specifically for year-round community use.
The facility would provide:
- Additional court space for basketball and volleyball
- Consistent practice availability
- Tournament hosting opportunities
- Open gym and recreation access
- Training and development programs
- Flexible community programming
By expanding indoor recreation capacity in the Bitterroot Valley, we hope to create more opportunities for youth athletes, families, schools, and local organizations while helping reduce scheduling pressures across existing facilities.
This project is about building long-term solutions for a growing community.
Optimizing practice schedules
Limited gym availability has become one of the biggest challenges facing youth sports programs in the Bitterroot Valley. Many teams are forced into crowded schedules, split practice times, or late evening sessions due to limited indoor court space.
Our goal is to help create a more efficient and community-friendly environment by expanding access to dedicated indoor recreation space for athletes of all ages.
With additional court availability, local programs could benefit from:
- Earlier practice opportunities for younger athletes
- More consistent weekly schedules
- Reduced scheduling conflicts between teams and organizations
- Increased training and development time
- Dedicated space for skill development, clinics, and camps
- Better flexibility during winter months and poor weather conditions
The facility would also create opportunities for scheduled senior and community recreation hours, including:
- Morning walking programs
- Pickleball
- Low-impact fitness activities
- Community wellness programs
- Social recreation opportunities during winter months
By improving access to indoor recreation space, we hope to support healthier schedules and more opportunities for athletes, families, coaches, seniors, schools, and the broader community.
